Individual Therapy

‘I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.’

Hello! I’m Matt

Accredited member of United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

If you are suffering from difficulties that you need support with, I can offer you a safe space to talk openly, confidentially and without judgement. Together we can agree a way to make positive and lasting change.

I am an integrative practitioner, meaning I can draw on a range of theories and techniques to meet your needs. Theories and methods I might incorporate include:

  • Mindfulness
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Creative techniques

Getting Started

The first step will be to arrange a 50-minute assessment session where we can decide whether I am the right therapist for you. In this session we will explore what has brought you to therapy and how we can work together to help you.

What is Individual Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy is a talking therapy. I will invite you to talk about whatever issues you are struggling with and support you to find ways of dealing with or resolving them. I start from the perspective that you are the expert on yourself. My job is to help you find the solutions that you hold within yourself. In psychotherapy the relationship between client and therapist is of the utmost importance. I will be working hard to create a supportive, trusting environment that will enable you to flourish.
